"We need to encourage a different debate about diversity at the university. Right now, there’s not enough room for critical perspectives. We’ve been talking about diversity at EUR for some time now, but we haven’t managed to transcend the level of questions like ‘so is diversity a good thing or not?"
As Erasmus School of Colour we are concerned with diversity and inclusion at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. Part of this engagement entails a rethinking of those very same concepts of diversity and inclusion, because we want to break away from the established order within the university. In order to achieve this, we organize lectures, movie and documentary nights and small scale gatherings with an emphasis on (engaging in) public issues.
